Q: Can I request to play with a friend?
A: Yes, you can when you register.
Q: When is the registration deadline?
A: The registration deadline is Friday, March 16th, 2012. Time is needed to form teams, order uniforms, and secure and train volunteer coaches.
Q: What equipment do I need?
A:
- Shin guards to be worn under socks
- Appropriate size ball to each practice (size 3 for U6 and U8, size 4 for U10)
- Water bottle with name on it
- Soccer cleats are suggested, but not required
- Eyeglasses should be secured with an elastic holder or strap
Q: Tell me more about the Developmental Skills Clinics scheduled on Saturdays?
A: The Recreation Development Skills Clinics serve several functions for the club. First, it is an opportunity for all children to be around other children their age in a soccer-fun environment. Second, it is an opportunity for the club to provide professional coaching for each age group; the idea is to introduce each child to a standard set of skills and athletic development. Third, the Recreation Development Skills Clinics are a child's first introduction to the Club's soccer resources.
Q: When and where are practices?
A: U6 Co-ed, U8 & U10 GIRLS practice on Monday and Wednesday nights. Practices take place between 5-8pm at night (times vary). Field space is in Golden Valley and Robbinsdale at fields such as, Lillian Seaman Park, Lions Park, Sanborn Park, and Noble Elementary. Exact locations are determined once registration is complete. U8 & U10 BOYS practice on Tuesday and Thursday nights at the same times and locations.
Q: When do games start?
A: Games begin after the Jamboree Season Kick-Off in early June and run through mid-July. U6 and U8 play other teams within their age group. U10 plays against teams from St. Louis Park.
Q: How many players are on a team and on the field?
A: There are 8-10 players on a team. Four players are on the field at one time allowing for more opportunities to touch the ball.
Q: Do you use paid referees?
A: U8 and U10 players have paid referees. U6 are led by their coaches.
Q: How long is the season?
A: April 28-July 22, 2012. Refer to the website calendar for event dates, times and locations.
Q: Do I get a uniform?
A: Yes, all players will be issued a jersey and matching socks. Their coach will distribute.
For a uniform look, it is recommended that parent purchase a black pair of gym shorts. Also recommended and not provided are shin guards and cleats.
