Recreational Program
The Golden Valley Phoenix Soccer Recreational Program serves boys and girls of ages 5-10 in Golden Valley and neighboring communities. Our Recreational program provides an excellent introduction to the sport of soccer, as well as opportunities for players to continue to improve their skills.
The 2012 season begins on Saturday, April 28th with a Team Kick-off at Lions Park in Golden Valley. Practices will start in mid-May. The Phoenix Jamboree on June 2nd, will kick-off the games playing season. Team pictures are taken and each recreational team will participate in "mini" games. The season ends in mid-July.
Our Approach:
Our playing format is 4x4. This format is beneficial for many reasons:
- Everyone Plays
- More ball touches for each player
- More scoring opportunities for each player
- More strategy and problem solving by players within games, less by coaches
The emphasis is on skills, sportsmanship and fun!
